Mission and History

The Tri-County Riding Club is a private social club serving members from Albemarle, Fluvanna, and Buckingham Counties. Typically, a social dinner or brunch is hosted by several members monthly in the clubhouse.

In 1951 the club was founded as a riding club for its members and their children.  Historically, breakfast meetings were held in members' homes.   Equestrian events and trail rides are no longer conducted.   Membership is by invitation.

The club house, located at 1619 Riding Club Road, Keene, VA was designed by Architect, Floyd Johnson, who was a member.  All members were asked to give $100 for the building fund.  Club members did most of the actual construction of the club house.  For a number of years horse shows were conducted on the property.  Several additions and renovations have been undertaken by the members over the years.
